LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 27, 2020) – Each week, the NTRA will provide a rundown of those who have qualified for the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) the previous weekend.
The NHC is the most important tournament of the year for horseplayers and is the culmination of a year-long series of NTRA-sanctioned local tournaments conducted by racetracks, casino race books, off-track betting facilities and horse racing and handicapping websites, each of which sends its top qualifiers to the national finals. The 2021 NHC is now slated take place in the Bally’s Events Center from August 27-29.
Friday, October 23

Jerry McClenin of Staten Island, NY will be making his eighth trip to the NHC in 2021, having first qualified in 2010.
Edwin Synowiecki of Chicago, IL has qualified for his fourth NHC appearance. He has cashed once for $1,325 in 2017.

Robert McIntyre of Park City, UT has earned his sixth NHC qualification with his best finish coming in 2020 where he landed in 39th place and cashed for $12,950.
Monmouth Park:
Peter Rogers of Summit, NJ will be heading to Las Vegas in 2021 for his sixth NHC appearance.
Roger Cettina, who was inducted into the NHC Hall of Fame in 2020, is heading to NHC 2021 for his 12th appearance in the tournament. The resident of Rumson, NJ is the only player to finish second in the NHC twice (2013 and 2016) and he’s cashed at the NHC three times while accumulating $460,300 in earnings.

Jeff Arthur of Chesapeake, VA is now dual qualified for what will be his fifth NHC appearance in 2021.
Edward Reidy of Gibschia, PA will be heading to Las Vegas in 2021 for his ninth NHC appearance. Reidy has cashed twice in prior years for a total of $34,160.
