LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 30, 2020) Each week, the NTRA will provide a rundown of those who have qualified for the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) the previous weekend.

 

The NHC is the most important tournament of the year for horseplayers and is the culmination of a year-long series of NTRA-sanctioned local tournaments conducted by racetracks, casino race books, off-track betting facilities and horse racing and handicapping websites, each of which sends its top qualifiers to the national finals.

Friday, September 25

HorsePlayers.com:

Linda Rodriguez of San Diego, CA, is now a seven-time NHC qualifier and has placed in the top 100 three times.

Jim Sebes of Hillsborough, NJ will be making his seventh trip to the NHC. Sebes was a dual qualifier in 2020 and 2017.

 

Saturday, September 26

HorsePlayers.com:

Scott McFaden will be heading to Las Vegas for his first NHC in 2021.

Tom Zayac of Ballston Lake, NY is a first-time NHC qualifier.

Bob Farah, a resident of Berkeley Heights, NJ, has qualified for his second NHC.

 

Monmouth Park:

Frank Salsano of Brick, NJ will be heading to the NHC for the first time.

Gary Gristick, a resident of Lebanon, PA, has qualified for his sixth NHC. Gristick finished 30th in 2017 where he cashed for $13,600.

 

Xpressbet:

Lawrence Konishi of Gardena, CA, will be making his third appearance at the NHC in 2021.

Tom Maloof of Middleboro, MA will be making his fourth trip to the NHC and was a dual qualifier in 2018.

 

Sunday, September 27

HorsePlayers.com:

Russell Weber of Amityville, NY will be playing in the NHC for the seventh time in 2021. Weber has cashed twice for a total of $45,000, finishing fifth in 2007 and sixth in 2010.

Kenny Livengood of Kinderhook, NY is a first-time NHC qualifier.

James Politano of Foxborough, MA has qualified for his first NHC tournament.
