Lexington, Ky. (January 8, 2024) – The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today #LoveOfTheHorse, a social media promotion in conjunction with the 53rd Annual Eclipse Awards that encourages horse fans and enthusiasts to share photos of themselves that demonstrate their deep connection and love of the horse. Inspired by Winston Churchill’s famous quote, “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man,” this year’s awards show will depict the many stories that uniquely touched our hearts this past year.
Participating individuals are encouraged to use the hashtag #LoveOfTheHorse and #EclipseAwards and tag the NTRA on social media. The NTRA will then share many fan photos and a lucky few will be featured during the Eclipse Awards which will air live on FanDuel TV from The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida on January 25 starting at 6:30 pm ET. Participants in the promotion can follow the NTRA on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to see if their #LoveOfTheHorse photo is shared.
After an exciting year of racing, the Eclipse Awards will return for the second consecutive year at The Breakers Palm Beach, with co-hosts Britney Eurton, Acacia Courtney Clement, and Nick Luck presiding over the show and Caton Bredar again serving as the Ceremony Announcer. Presented by FanDuel TV, John Deere, Keeneland, and The Jockey Club, the Eclipse Awards will honor the 2023 human and equine Champions of Thoroughbred racing. All finalists were announced live on FanDuel TV on Saturday, January 6, and the full list can be found here.
Named after the great 18th-century Thoroughbred racehorse and foundation sire Eclipse, the awards will be presented in 17 categories. Media Eclipse Award winners, the National Horseplayer of the Year, and the FanDuel Racing-NTRA Moment of the Year as voted on by fans will also be honored at the awards ceremony.

About The Eclipse Awards
The Eclipse Awards are named after the great 18th-century racehorse and foundation sire Eclipse, who began racing at age five and was undefeated in 18 starts, including eight walkovers. Eclipse sired the winners of 344 races, including three Epsom Derbies. The Eclipse Awards are bestowed upon horses and individuals whose outstanding achievements in North America have earned them the title of Champion in their respective categories. Those awards are voted by NTRA, Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB).
