After a weekend of racing that included an upset in the Grade 1 Whitney at Saratoga Race Course, there were two major changes in this week’s Top Thoroughbred Poll. Palace Malice, who disappointed as the heavy favorite in the Whitney, dropped to third from his former No. 1 ranking. Reigning Horse of the Year Wise Dan moved into the No. 1 slot. Whitney winner Moreno appears at No. 8 on the list after previously being unranked.
