In the first NTRA Top Thoroughbred poll of the year on March 11, two standouts appeared on the polls voted on by the media. Many of the Top 10 in both the Top Thoroughbred and Top 3-Year-Old polls were not surprising with Game On Dude opening the voting in the No. 1 spot on the Top Thoroughbred Poll for the third straight year and Holy Bull Stakes winner Cairo Prince leading the 3-Year-Old Poll.
Top Thoroughbred Poll
Last weekend’s Santa Anita Handicap winner Game On Dude earned the most votes in the Top Thoroughbred Poll with 427 overall points. Game On Dude became the first horse to win three Big ‘Caps, winning both the 2011 and 2013 editions in addition to this year’s.He was followed by Royal Delta with 342 points and Point of Entry with 277. Both horses have won their only start in 2013.

Cairo Prince’s win in the Holy Bull Stakes allowed him to start the year on top of the Polls with 411 points, he is followed by California Chrome, who won last week’s San Felipe in convincing fashion.
