This week’s poll anointed a new top Thoroughbred after a flurry of Grade 1 stakes over the weekend. Shared Belief toppled Wise Dan for the No. 1 spot after his victory in the Awesome Again Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita. Fellow 3-year-old Tonalist leapt into fourth position with a win in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, ahead of Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome who slid to fifth. Main Sequence moved up to No. 6 after scoring his third consecutive Grade 1 triumph and filly Beholder reappeared on the list at No. 9 with a win in the Grade 1 Zenyatta Stakes.
