Oxbow gave Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas at the age of 77 his sixth Preakness win and Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens at the age of 50 his third winning Preakness in the Grade I Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course by 1 ¾ lengths. Oxbow’s victory in the Preakness was the record 14th Triple Crown win for Lukas, who was previously tied with “Sunny “Jim Fitzsimmons.
