Jockey Perry Ouzts surpassed Hall of Famer Russell Baze to become North America’s all-time leader in mounts with ride number 53,579. The 71-year-old rider from Arkansas began his career in the spring of 1973 at Beaulah Park in Grove City, Ohio and won his first race in April 1973.
