LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 17, 2019) – The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) today announced that Castle Hill Gaming has joined the organization.

Since 2013, Castle Hill Gaming has provided state-of-the-art gaming products to casino gaming facilities across the United States. The company is led by a team of veterans from the online computer game developer Kesmai Corporation and the Native American Class II casino gaming industry.

Based in Charlottesville, Va., Castle Hill boasts over 120 game titles, offered in both mechanical and video reel formats, for its historical horse racing (HHR) machines that are based on the results of previously run horse races. The company’s HHR machines are GLI-approved for operation in Castle Hill’s home state of Virginia, and already in use at casinos and gaming facilities in Oklahoma, Washington, and Texas, among other states.

Entry into historical horse racing is a natural extension for a leadership team that includes several members with long-standing relationships within the equestrian and horse racing industry. CEO Arthur Watson III grew up on an Albemarle County, Va., racehorse farm and is the grandson of the late Arthur Watson, President of NBC Sports during the 1980s who championed the historic telecast agreement with the Breeders’ Cup in 1984.

To further its historical horse racing business development plans, Castle Hill has recently added veteran racing industry executive, Ben Cambra, to its team.

“We thank Castle Hill for its support of the NTRA and look forward to working with their team as they expand their gaming portfolio into horse racing and historical racing,” said NTRA Chief Operating Officer Keith Chamblin.
