“We are excited to partner with the NTRA to host this webinar,” Shah said. “While filing taxes is just another task on most people’s list, we understand the nuances and importance of different variables that specifically impact the equine industry and we value bringing maximum benefit to horse and farm owners from both a personal and operational perspective. Our unique background and expertise of more than 40 years of serving the industry with accounting, tax, and business consulting services makes this such an enjoyable collaboration for us.”

Jen began her public accounting career at a Big 4 accounting firm, where she specialized in individual international tax matters. Jen joined Dean Dorton in 2003 and advises business and individual clients on tax and general business consulting matters. She has worked with a variety of clients in many different industries, but spends much of her time working with high net worth individuals and related entities including businesses, trusts and foundations.

Jen currently leads the firm’s equine practice. In addition to working extensively with participants in the equine industry, she advises clients on general international tax matters.

Outside of assisting clients, Jen is a frequent speaker on tax matters, most recently speaking at the National Thoroughbred Owner Conference, Saratoga Institute on Equine, Racing, & Gaming Law Conference, and Consignors and Commercial Breeders Association Symposium among other industry events. She currently serves as the treasurer of Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and is a finance committee member of Horse Country, Inc. in addition to other industry involvement.
