ONLINE AUCTION NOW UNDER WAY TO BENEFIT EASTER SEALS CARDINAL HILL, PDJF & PROJECT WALK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Friday, September 30, 2016) – An online auction to raise funds for the Easter Seals Cardinal Hill, the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Project Walk and the John Joseph Morris Trust is now under way.  The auction is part of the build up to the 5th annual “Chipping in for Johnny” golf tournament Monday, October 3 in central Kentucky to raise funds for important charities and defray a portion of the rehabilitation expenses of Johnny Morris, the son of long time horse racing industry executive Joe Morris. The younger Morris was paralyzed after an accidental fall in July 2012.

The online auction items, which can be found at biddingforgood.com/johnmorrisclassic, include:

  • Racetrack Experiences at Churchill Downs, Del Mar, Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, Santa Anita and Saratoga
  • LA Kings v. Chicago Blackhawks tickets for Four (4) at Staples Center
  • Beholder posters signed by Gary Stevens and Richard Mandella
  • American Pharoah limited-edition Maker’s Mark commemorative bottle
  • Northern Nevada Golf and Hotel Package
  • Jockey goggles signed by Mike Smith and Javier Castellano
  • Tito’s Vodka silks signed by Victor Espinoza & Tito Beveridge

In addition to the John Joseph Morris Trust, this year’s golf tournament and auction also will benefit Easter Seals Cardinal Hill, funding an adapted recreation program located in Lexington; the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF), a 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial assistance to former jockeys who have suffered catastrophic on-track injuries; and the Project Walk Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons with paralysis by making alternative activity-based recovery treatments available to all affected individuals regardless of that person’s financial condition.
