NTRA TODAY IN THOROUGHBRED RACING HISTORY
April 19
- 1952 Native Dancer won his first race, at Jamaica racetrack, and would go on to win 21 of 22 lifetime starts and earn champion honors in each of his three years of racing for owner and breeder Alfred G. Vanderbilt II. Known as the Gray Ghost because of the color of his coat, Native Dancer became wildly popular on television due to being easily recognizable to viewers.

WHAT WE DO.
The mission of the NTRA is to increase the popularity, welfare and integrity of Thoroughbred racing through consensus-based leadership, legislative advocacy, safety and integrity initiatives, fan engagement and corporate partner development.
