NTRA TODAY IN THOROUGHBRED RACING HISTORY

- 2006 A two-year-old Forestry colt became the most expensive Thoroughbred ever sold at a public auction at the Fasig-Tipton Calder sale. Later named The Green Monkey, the colt brought $16 million. The previous record was the $13.1 million paid for Seattle Dancer as a yearling in 1986.

The mission of the NTRA is to increase the popularity, welfare and integrity of Thoroughbred racing through consensus-based leadership, legislative advocacy, safety and integrity initiatives, fan engagement and corporate partner development.
