LEXINGTON, Ky. (February 23, 2021) – Each week, the NTRA will provide a rundown of those who have qualified for the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) the previous weekend.
The NHC is the most important tournament of the year for horseplayers and is the culmination of a year-long series of NTRA-sanctioned local tournaments conducted by racetracks, casino race books, off-track betting facilities and horse racing and handicapping websites, each of which sends its top qualifiers to the national finals. The 2021 NHC is slated take place in the Bally’s Events Center from August 27-29 with the 2022 NHC set for January 28-30 at Bally’s.

Evan Littman made his first NHC tournament appearance in 2020.
James Henry of Torrance, CA has made 13 prior appearances at the NHC, cashing twice for a total of $4,750.
Dennis Decauwer of Rancho Cucamonga, CA has made the trip to Las Vegas for the NHC 15 times previously with his best finish coming in 2009 when he placed second. Decauwer, an NHC mentor, has cashed three times for a total of $152,875.

Cheryl Tayala of Warren, OH has made six prior appearances at the NHC, cashing once for $13,500 in 2019.
Jay Johns of Kansas City, MO has made six prior appearances at the NHC.
George Bosch of Brooklyn, NY has made five prior appearances at the NHC.
