LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 21, 2021) – Each week, the NTRA will provide a rundown of those who have qualified for the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) the previous weekend.
The NHC is the most important tournament of the year for horseplayers and is the culmination of a year-long series of NTRA-sanctioned local tournaments conducted by racetracks, casino race books, off-track betting facilities and horse racing and handicapping websites, each of which sends its top qualifiers to the national finals. The 2021 NHC is now slated take place in the Bally’s Events Center from August 27-29.

Ernest Hey, Jr. of Lancaster, NY is now dual qualified for what will be his third NHC appearance when he heads to Las Vegas in 2021.
Mark Heider of Laguna Hills, CA is heading to the NHC for the second time having made his first appearance in 2011.
Andrew Weiss of Aurora, ON will be making his NHC debut at the 2021 tournament.

Jack Rassier of Chaska, MN has qualified for his first NHC appearance.

Eric Brothers will be making his third NHC appearance when he heads to Las Vegas in 2021.
James Costello of Watertown, MA is now dual qualified for what will be his first NHC appearance.
Albert Tiernan of Santa Rosa, CA has qualified for what will be his third NHC appearance. Tiernan has cashed once for $10,320 in 2016.

Chris Savage of Denham Springs, LA will be heading to the NHC for the fourth time.
Stephen Wolfson, Jr., the 2003 NHC champion, will be making his 13th appearance in the tournament when he heads to Las Vegas in 2021. The resident of Holly Hill, FL and NHC Hall of Famer also finished second at the 2017 NHC and has cashed a total of three times.
Randall Walters of Carlton, TX has qualified for what will be his second NHC appearance.
