LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 18, 2019) – Horse PAC®, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA)’s bipartisan federal Political Action Committee, has surpassed over $4 million in support for federal political candidates since its inception.

Since its activation in 2002 through December 31, 2018, Horse PAC® has disbursed $4,090,879 to support federal political candidates who:

  •    Serve on Congressional committees that oversee livestock and agricultural issues, Internet gaming, taxation, immigration and the Interstate Horseracing Act
  •    Are established Congressional leaders
  •    Understand horse racing’s issues
  •   Have racetracks, OTBs, ADW facilities, breeding farms, training centers and other equine venues in their districts
  •    Are members of the Congressional Horse Caucus
  •    Are emerging leaders meriting “early support”

“We thank the Horse PAC® contributors and the Horse PAC® Board of Directors for their support throughout the years,” said Alex Waldrop, Horse PAC® president. “The disbursing of over $4 million to more than 200 candidates has helped our industry maintain a strong presence in Washington, D.C. by building lasting relationships with our Congressional allies.”

A comprehensive legislative summary of industry-related issues can now be found online as part of the 2018 Horse PAC® Annual Report. Included in the report are Horse PAC® disbursement details, the Horse PAC® contributor list, and the election scorecard from the November 2018 midterm elections for Horse PAC®-supported candidates.
